This short film charts the rise of the Corporate State, and examines the future of obedience in a world of unfettered capitalism, globalisation, staggering inequality and environmental change.

War Correspondent Chris Hedges is taking on a very tough job, telling the truth to people who absolutely do not want to hear it.  His first hand accounts of war makes this is his most compelling speach!
"In war, Truth is the first casualty." -"Violence is a disease, a disease that corrupts all who use it regardless of the cause.”
"We are tempted, maybe even encouraged, to reduce life to a simple search for happiness. Happiness, however, withers if there is no meaning. The other temptation is to disavow the search for happiness in order to be faithful to that which provides meaning. But to live only for meaning, indifferent to all happiness, makes us fanatic, self-righteous, and cold. This is a nice lecture outlining the depth of our Empire.  He points out that what is called a failure and ridiculed as such, are in fact sucesses for maintaining the status quo.  He's a little slow but looks good for an 80 year old.
